It’s not a house, it’s a home.” Bob Dylan

There is a quality of light and space in the Northern Highlands of Scotland which is unique, but the wide skies and ever-present sea seem particularly enchanting on the broad plain of Easter Ross Seaboard, where stands Glenmorangie’s Highland Home, at Cadboll. The atmosphere of calm and tranquility is palpable, and it is reflected and complemented by the mood of the house itself: relaxed, welcoming, comfortable, supremely hospitable – homely.

Owned by the world-famous purveyor of malt whisky since 1989 and fifteen minutes away from the distillery itself, the 16th century Glenmorangie House Hotel defines what we at The Links-Club consider to be the best in Scottish hospitality.

The clarity and calm which imbues Glenmorangie House Hotel , its privacy and exclusivity, makes it the perfect venue for a private party of up to sixteen people. Whether a group of friends enjoying a memorable golfing vacation or a boardroom retreat seeking the space to think clearly mixed in with a round of golf at the awe-inspiring Royal Dornoch, the welcome you receive at Glenmorangie House Hotel is something particularly special.

Here you are treated as a house-guest. You are encouraged to roam and relax throughout this stunning highland home and it’s adjacent gardens, which include a private beach. Your hosts and their staff go to any length to ensure your stay is enjoyable and nothing is too much trouble.

Each evening you are presented with fresh cuisine, sumptuously prepared by the Glenmorangie Hotel's head chef Anne Mackenzie. And it is fresh. Salmon is landed on the beach below the house; shellfish at Balintore harbour, a mile away. Vegetables, herbs and soft fruits, in season, come from the kitchen garden and glasshouses. Beef and lamb, raised on Ross-shire’s coastal grazings, come from nearby Dingwall. Game is brought in from neighbouring estates.

And then, of course, there is the malt. After a superb dinner you will be able to sink into your chair beside a roaring fire, contemplate tomorrows round whilst enjoying the many varieties of the house malt which claims to take you ‘a little closer to heaven than any other’.

The Highland retreat of Glenmorangie House Hotel is the ideal spot from which to attack the outstanding golfing potential of the North. Royal Dornoch, Nairn, Lossiemouth, Elgin, Tain and many others are all within 30 minutes drive. For those wishing to extend their golfing pursuits beyond the immediate region from a base at Glenmorangie House, helicopter transfer to all the major courses is easily arranged.

Contact the Links-Club if you are interested in enjoying the potential of Glenmorangie House. As this is an extremely popular destination, we recommend you don’t leave it too long!
