At the Links-Club we know that the Royal Scots Club gives our golfing clients a unique experience from that of the larger resort hotels, as its special club atmosphere and friendly ambience enhances the personal experience. It is unique in its position providing the client with peace and quiet akin to the country hotel but within minutes of the city centre. It is ideal for those golfers who are keen on their prestigious golf but are also willing to participate in the life of one of the most vibrant cities of Europe.
Founded in 1919 as a tribute to those who fell in The Great War The Royal Scots Club is proud of its heritage. Traditional values are very important. Courtesy, personal service and warm hospitality are at the very heart of the Club. The fabric of the building is architecturally stimulating and exudes a charm and ambiance that is both relaxed and comfortable.
The Royal Scots Club is open for both members and non-members alike for bed and breakfast accommodation, conference and banqueting facilities as well as excellent cuisine in the Club’s Dining Room.
With 21 bedrooms individually designed and traditionally furnished, the level of comfort is second to none. All our rooms whether standard or superior, king size or four poster, offer modern facilities, some with scenic views over the rooftops to Fife or to private gardens to the front.
All our bedrooms have private en-suite facilities with luxury toiletries, hospitality trays, cable televisions and DDI telephones with adapters for Internet access.
All guests staying overnight have complimentary access to the Fitness First Health Club, located in the Club’s basement area where there are several gymnasiums, sauna and steam rooms and beauticians.
Experience the pleasure of dining in one of the finest rooms in Edinburgh. The classical Georgian features and tranquil views over Queen Street Gardens are matched only by the traditional Scottish fayre.
Open for breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner the choice of quality produce will surprise and delight all tastes. Due to long tradition the Club does have a Dress Code for the Dining Room.
Gentlemen are expected to wear a jacket and tie for lunch between a Monday and Friday, an open necked shirt, worn without a jacket is acceptable at weekends. A jacket and tie is required for dinner Monday to Thursday, on other evenings smart but casual attire is acceptable. Ladies are expected to conform to an equivalent standard of dress at all times.
At the Links-Club we think your stay at The Royal Scots Club will be unique, and from here you will be in a position to play some of the great golf courses in Scotland. The first and foremost of those courses is Muirfield, in our opinion one of the great courses of the world and a true test for the open championship, however along side Muirfield we have the excellent courses of Gullane no1 and no2, the former being an open qualifying course.
These are truly great links courses and a true test of the links golf style. Even further down the coast, some 6 miles is the town and course of North Berwick and also Dunbar. Many of our clients are unaware of their existence and are amazed once they have played these courses. Once the client has finished their golf on one of these courses, it is little more that 45 minutes to return to the Capital city. Once back at your hotel you are within easy reach of some of the great events of the year, like the military Tattoo or the festival. The fine dining opportunities are numerous, and perhaps a visit to the Malt whisky society would be a pleasure for most clients. We, at the Links-Club highly recommend the Royal Scots Club.
